Human Factors in Instrumentation and Controls Upgrades

 

 

This two-day training course provides the most recent human factors standards and methods which are useful for instrumentation and controls (I&C) upgrade.  Practical approaches are offered for enhancing the operator-equipment interface in control rooms and operations centers as well as strategies for introducing new equipment and technologies.  An overview is provided to distributed control systems (DCS) and to the human factors design requirements for new Video Display Unit (VDU)-based systems.  I&C examples from power, process, and satellite communications industries are used throughout the course.
